Zcash [$ZEC] spent months absorbing supply between the $364.24 floor and $560 ceiling, gradually building pressure beneath resistance. Once buyers cleared $560, large 4-hour candles drove Zcash through $680 with almost no horizontal consolidation.

This rapid advance exposed an overhead liquidity gap, allowing aggressive orders to push the price toward $858.62 before sellers responded.

Sellers eventually placed their limit orders, creating a large upper wick that pulled price back downward toward $760. Moments later, profit-taking interrupted the impulsive movement.

However, longs were again able to absorb that new supply quickly, pushing $ZEC back to $797.39 and holding the pullback above $680. At press time, the RSI had dropped to 69.88, indicating that overbought momentum was beginning to normalize rather than collapsing.

At the same time, the MACD was still trending upwards, but the narrowing histogram showed that the momentum was cooling. As a result, this structure places immediate support at $761 (white line), while $820–$840 remains the active supply zone.

Price is therefore consolidating near the expansion’s upper range, with $858.62 still defining the market’s unresolved resistance level.

Grayscale ETF push lifts $ZEC trading activity

As $ZEC closed near $800, Grayscale advanced their plan to have the Zcash Trust converted to a spot ETF.

Yet, it’s the derivatives that were impacted most. Futures turnover reached $5.77 billion, while the Open Interest (OI) grew to approximately $1.8 billion.

Therefore, as leverage equaled 13% of market cap, speculative positioning became the main driver of the upward surge.

Exchange netflows, however, showed no sustained accumulation or distribution, pointing instead to rapid two-way trading. It is therefore no surprise that $ZEC maintained an extremely high level of trading activity after the price surged yet never established an indicator of holder accumulation.

The participation increase strengthened liquidity, but its derivatives-heavy structure also intensified price sensitivity afterward.

$ZEC rally outpaces social attention

Trading momentum increased with Grayscale’s ETF announcement. Yet, public awareness of $ZEC continued to lag $ZEC’s price increase. The price of $ZEC increased from $362 on the 6th of June to approximately $796.

Most of this movement occurred between the 18th and 21st of August, when the price jumped from $509 to $733. However, social volume reached only 138 mentions on the 21st of August. That was nearly 88% below the 1,116 mentions recorded before the June bottom.

The contrast shows trading participation expanded faster than broader discussion during the advance. $ZEC’s recovery, therefore, outpaced broader attention, confirming limited public engagement throughout the rally.

Final Summary

  • Zcash surged to $858.62 on aggressive buying; holding $761 makes $820–$840 the next resistance test.
  • Grayscale’s ETF push raised volume and leverage, revealing a rally driven by trading activity rather than broad public attention.
