Chainlink Labs has joined the Global Alliance for Korean Won Stablecoin, known as GAKS, an industry group led by WEMADE to develop standards for KRW-backed digital assets. The alliance focuses on real-world use of stablecoins while aligning with Korean financial regulations and global compliance requirements.

WEMADE, a South Korea–based gaming company and operator of the WEMIX blockchain ecosystem, launched GAKS in November 2025. The initiative aims to build a trusted infrastructure for KRW stablecoins by bringing together firms from blockchain security, compliance, fintech, and data services.

The addition of Chainlink follows earlier partnerships with:

  • Chainalysis, a blockchain analytics and compliance company,
  • CertiK, a smart contract security auditor,
  • SentBe, a fintech firm specializing in cross-border payments.

As part of the alliance, Chainlink Labs will provide strategic input on technical standards and infrastructure design. Chainlink’s role will include supporting data integrity and price stability mechanisms for KRW stablecoins, helping ensure consistency with international financial market standards.
