Backpack says users can now post Micron and SanDisk shares as collateral in a unified portfolio-margin account spanning stocks, crypto and other instruments, expanding the role of equities on its platform beyond buying and selling them.
The exchange said stock holdings can support U.S. dollar borrowing, futures trades and spot margin. Backpack also introduced 24/7 perpetual futures on MU, SNDK, SPY and QQQ.
For Backpack users with the named shares, the change means those holdings can now contribute collateral within the same cross-asset account. Backpack had previously offered international investors round-the-clock buying, holding and selling of selected real U.S. equities, including Micron and SanDisk.
Backpack’s earlier equities announcement said investors held full ownership of traded U.S. shares and could bridge between traditional securities and tokenized representations on Solana on a one-to-one basis.
The newly announced scope is limited to two named equity collateral assets and four perpetual markets. Backpack said more would follow but did not provide a timetable in the post.
