Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has received regulatory approval from the Austrian Financial Supervisory Authority, officially obtaining a MiCA license that grants it permission to operate across the European Union.

This landmark approval under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework allows Bybit to significantly expand its presence across all EU member states through a single regulatory passport. Headquartered in Dubai, Bybit now joins the ranks of registered exchanges like Bitpanda, its key competitor in the Austrian market.

The license marks a major step in Bybit’s global regulatory strategy and underscores its commitment to compliance amid an increasingly complex regulatory environment for digital assets.

“With this approval, Bybit is now strategically positioned to access the entire EU crypto market under a unified license,” analysts noted. “It levels the playing field and signals serious competition for regionally established players.”

Beyond market access, the MiCA license also enhances customer confidence in Bybit’s platform by aligning it with robust consumer protection and financial stability requirements set forth by EU regulators.

As MiCA enforcement becomes a critical factor for long-term growth and legitimacy in Europe, Bybit’s early move is expected to strengthen its competitive edge and broaden its user base across the continent.
