Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse took to X today to praise the Trump administration as “the most crypto-forward” in U.S. history, a comment made as his team attended the White House signing ceremony for the landmark GENIUS Act.

The public praise appears to be a clear strategic move from the head of a company that has famously battled U.S. regulators.

How Ripple’s CEO is celebrating the new crypto law

“Bummed I wasn’t able to make it in person but celebrating from afar,” he posted, making a point to mention that Ripple’s team was present at the White House for the ceremony.

His direct praise of the administration comes as President Donald Trump officially signed the country’s first digital asset legislation into law. The GENIUS Act focuses on creating a federal oversight framework for stablecoins, mandating 1-to-1 backing with dollars or equivalent assets.

How other industry leaders are falling in line

Garlinghouse was not alone in his positive remarks. Ripple’s Chief Legal Officer, Stuart Alderoty, welcomed the bill, describing it as long-awaited regulatory clarity. He said the framework would help innovators and consumers alike move forward with confidence in digital financial products.

Paul Grewal, Coinbase’s Chief Legal Officer, added that defining how stablecoins should be backed may help preserve the U.S. dollar’s position globally. He noted the sudden growth in dollar-backed stablecoin use and said regulatory certainty could drive further expansion.

Additionally, Justin Sun, founder of TRON, said the law sets a workable framework for innovation in the crypto sector. He emphasized the importance of properly collateralized stablecoins for both growth and user protection.

Stablecoin Requirements Set Clear Standards

This unified praise from the crypto industry comes after extensive lobbying efforts and campaign support for pro-crypto candidates. President Trump, though previously critical of crypto, has more closely aligned with the industry in recent months.

For industry leaders like Garlinghouse, publicly celebrating Trump’s “crypto-forward” approach is a calculated step to secure a favorable position in this new era.
