Ethereum’s price action this week has created a potentially important setup for Thursday and Friday.
$ETH keeps moving through short-term liquidity areas without picking a clear direction, so the two levels to keep an eye on are this week’s high around $2,535 and a low near $2,440.
$ETH formed a broader range early in the week, with ~$2,512 acting as resistance and ~$2,467 as support. Rather than breaking into a sustained trend, price repeatedly swept both sides of the range, signaling liquidity grabs and choppy, volatility-driven conditions.
Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s Price Movement
Tuesday was the first real test of Monday’s range. Ethereum dropped below Monday’s low to roughly $2,440, sweeping up the liquidity sitting under the short-term range.
That is a minor drop, but is notable nonetheless because a liquidity sweep doesn’t necessarily mean the market is turning bearish. $ETH then remained trapped between the broader weekly boundaries rather than producing a decisive breakdown.
Wednesday brought a bit sharper moves in both directions, with Ethereum falling toward $2,444 before rebounding above $2,500 and reaching approximately $2,522.
That’s what traders often describe as “seek and destroy”, a scenario where the price moves through one side of a range, reverses, then goes after the other side.
These are minor movements and price changes, and looking at the chart, it’s evident that neither side has managed a convincing weekly breakout yet.
Thursday and Friday Could Decide the Weekly Direction
The key levels are now fairly well defined, with the weekly high around $2,535 as the upside boundary, and the $2,440 area as the downside boundary.
If $ETH pushes past $2,535, it would take out the week’s high and might signal that buyers are finally in charge, especially if it can stay above that level as opposed to getting rejected again.
On the other hand, in case Ethereum clearly breaks below $2,440, it would take out the weekly low and could open the door to deeper support. $ETH’s broader bullish setup would face a much bigger warning sign if it falls through the $2,350-$2,360 area.
The timing matters too, as hotter-than-expected PPI data on Thursday has already added volatility, with Friday’s CPI now seen as the key catalyst that could drive a breakout from the current range.
