Ethereum Purchases Continue!
SharpLink Gaming, the Nasdaq-listed company that has been accumulating Ethereum as part of its strategic reserves, purchased an additional 77,206 ETH over the weekend.
Citing Arkham data, on-chain data platform Lookonchain noted that the company purchased 77,210 ETH worth approximately $295 million on Sunday evening.
According to the data, this purchase is more than the network's net Ethereum issuance (72,795 ETH) in the last 30 days.
The company holds 438,017 ETH with the latest purchase, and the value of these ETHs is around $1.7 billion at current market prices.
“Banks are closed on weekends. Ethereum runs 24/7,” the company said in its X post on Sunday.
SharpLink Gaming has recently become one of the largest Ethereum treasury companies as part of its increasing Ethereum treasury strategy.
SharpLink is the second company to hold more than $1.5 billion in ETH in its treasury, while Bitmine Immersion Tech is in first place with over $2 billion in ETH assets.
SharpLink Gaming, using the strategy of top Bitcoin bull Strategy, has been buying ETH on a weekly basis. This is the highest weekly purchase in history, as the company also bought ETH last week.
The company, which surpasses the Ethereum Foundation in terms of ETH holdings, announced last week that former BlackRock executive Joseph Chalom has joined SharpLink as co-CEO.
