BitGo has integrated the Neo X network, making institutional-grade custody and wallet services available for the EVM-compatible sidechain. Neo Global Development announced the integration on July 7.
Founded in 2013, BitGo secures over US $100 billion in assets on its platform and serves thousands of institutional clients, exchanges, and service providers worldwide. The company went public on the NYSE in January 2026 and holds a federal cryptocurrency bank charter from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, alongside a New York Trust Charter from NYDFS. BitGo added 28 new blockchain networks in 2025 as part of a broader expansion effort, and covers 186 of the top 250 digital assets by market capitalization. It also serves as sole custodian for Wrapped Bitcoin on Ethereum.
What the integration provides
Through the integration, institutional clients can now custody and manage Neo X assets using BitGo’s multi-signature wallet infrastructure. The platform supports both custodial and non-custodial configurations across hot and cold storage, alongside settlement, trading, and compliance tooling.
NGD stated the integration is aimed at making Neo X “more accessible to institutions, exchanges, and service providers globally.” For institutions already using BitGo to manage assets across other networks, Neo X support reduces operational friction by consolidating custody under a single platform. The integration also opens access to BitGo’s broader service suite, including staking, reporting tools, and DeFi access.
Institutional infrastructure buildout
The BitGo integration is the latest in a sequence of institutional infrastructure additions for Neo X in 2026. In April, LayerZero went live on Neo X, connecting the network to over 170 blockchains for cross-chain messaging and token transfers. In May, Chainlink CCIP deployed to MainNet, adding oracle-backed cross-chain messaging with an initial Neo X–Ethereum lane.
Each integration addresses a different layer of the stack: cross-chain connectivity, oracle and messaging infrastructure, and now institutional custody. Together, they form a growing foundation of institutional-grade services for a network that Neo founder Da Hongfei has positioned as an AI-agent-native blockchain.
