John Bollinger, the legendary trader and inventor of the popular Bollinger Bands technical indicator, has discovered a secret Bitcoin game on CoinMarketCap.

On Oct. 21, Bollinger shared on X that he noticed a small bird in the bottom-left corner of the cryptocurrency tracking platform.

When the bird is clicked, a small arcade-style game opens up, enabling users to traverse Bitcoin's historical price movements confined between Bollinger Bands.

"Just saw this @CoinMarketCap has a tiny bird floating in the bottom left corner of their site," Bollinger said.

The legendary technical analyst seemed especially entertained by the game's unique mixture of crypto history and technical analysis.

"Sorta reminds me of the good vibes of the early days. Enjoy!" he added.

A secret Bitcoin game

Bitcoin Bird, CoinMarketCap's hidden game, is essentially a fun version of the classic Flappy Bird mobile game but with a crypto theme.

Rather than controlling a bird that flies between narrow pipes, the game requires you to guide the bird to fly between a corridor created by the top and bottom Bollinger Bands of Bitcoin's historical price chart.

The objective is to fly the bird between the two borders without hitting either band.

Throughout the game, you'll be exploring various time periods of Bitcoin's price history, essentially converting the volatility of the cryptocurrency into an arcade-style obstacle course.

The concept is particularly relevant because Bollinger Bands are known for expanding or shrinking in response to volatility.

To play the game, go to CoinMarketCap or click the little bird icon on the homepage of the website.

Although the premise of the game is simple, mastering Bitcoin's famously volatile price history is a fun challenge.

Unsurprisingly, the game is also an unexpected tribute to one of the most famous technical indicators.

The Bollinger Bands were invented by John Bollinger in the early 1980s. The indicator is used by traders to measure market volatility and identify whether a price is high or low relative to a recent trading range.
