The $AVAX price may be running out of room, at least from a technical standpoint. While the token continues to trade inside an ascending pennant pattern, that setup is widely viewed as a bearish continuation formation. If sellers force a breakdown below the pattern, the next move could be considerably lower.

Meanwhile, the Avalanche ecosystem keeps building in the background, reminding investors that token price and network development don’t always move together.

Bearish Pattern Keeps Traders On Edge

Price action has steadily narrowed inside the ascending pennant, increasing the likelihood of a decisive breakout in the coming sessions.

If the pattern breaks to the downside, $AVAX price could slide toward $3.50, extending the broader weakness. On the other hand, technical setups don’t always play out as expected.

Should buyers invalidate the bearish structure, the token could rebound toward the 200-day EMA near $9.50, turning the current setup into a failed breakdown instead. For now, both scenarios remain on the table.

Avalanche Network Doesn’t Stand Still

Looking only at the token price paints an incomplete picture of the ecosystem. Bitwise highlighted on July 28 that 41.5% of all $AVAX is currently staked, reflecting continued participation from network validators and holders.

The firm also noted Avalanche’s economic design, where stakers receive newly minted $AVAX while every transaction fee paid on the network is permanently burned. That mechanism continues operating regardless of short-term market swings.

Fundamentals And Price Tell Different Stories

It’s a familiar crypto narrative. Strong ecosystem activity doesn’t necessarily translate into immediate price appreciation.

While $AVAX price remains under technical pressure, the Avalanche network continues reinforcing its staking participation and tokenomics.

Whether those fundamentals eventually outweigh bearish chart patterns will depend on whether buyers regain momentum before the ascending pennant resolves lower.
