Arthur Hayes Makes Critical Statements About Altcoins: He Shares His Two Favorite Altcoins and Price Predictions!

Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, was one of the prominent figures who attended the Consensus 2026 Conference.

Speaking about altcoins, Hayes argued that despite high failure rates, new speculative and innovative projects will continue to emerge, thus ensuring the long-term existence of altcoins.

Challenging claims made by some analysts that the majority of altcoins will disappear, Hayes stated, “Altcoins will never die.”

Hayes stated that there will always be unsuccessful projects in the market, but the disappearance of some altcoins does not mean the altcoin market will disappear.

The well-known figure, who also added that he invests heavily in altcoins, highlighted Hyperliquid ($HYPE) and Zcash ($ZEC) among his largest altcoin positions.

Hayes, who made price predictions for $HYPE and $ZEC, predicted that the price of $HYPE could reach $150 by August.

Hayes made a larger prediction for $ZEC, setting a price target of one-tenth of the price of Bitcoin ($BTC).

“$ZEC’s goal is to reach 10% of the $BTC price; so there’s still plenty of room for growth.”

At current prices, Hayes’ estimate for $ZEC translates to about one-tenth the price of $BTC, or approximately $8,190.

$ZEC, currently trading at around $570, needs to rise by approximately 1332% to reach Hayes’ target price.
