Leading mainstream AI chatbots ChatGPT and Grok AI choose where to invest $10,000 between $XRP and $ONDO.
While $XRP and Ondo ($ONDO) are two of the most widely-recognized crypto assets, $XRP boasts greater prominence, being the fourth-largest asset, with a market cap of $105 billion. Meanwhile, $ONDO, which has a valuation of $2.25 billion, is 34th on the list.
This indicates that $XRP’s valuation is over 45x Ondo’s market cap, placing $XRP as the more established asset. However, this dominance does not necessarily make $XRP the superior investment. To ascertain this, we asked ChatGPT and Grok where they would invest $10,000: $XRP or $ONDO.
Grok AI Picks $XRP
Grok picked $XRP, citing its role in the payment scene as the deciding factor. According to Grok, $XRP’s primary strength is in its utility for fast, low-cost cross-border transactions, which makes it a reliable choice for financial institutions.
Its association with Ripple, particularly the company’s push to tokenize real-world assets, is bullish. Grok pointed to Ripple’s recent collaboration with Ondo Finance as a sign that $XRP is instrumental in bridging traditional finance with blockchain, especially through tokenized U.S. Treasuries.
The chatbot emphasized $XRP’s maturity in the market. It suggested that $XRP had a market cap of roughly $130 billion, outpacing $ONDO’s $2.59 billion. Despite $XRP’s market cap dropping by nearly $30 billion, it is still miles above $ONDO.
Grok admitted that larger market caps often limit explosive short-term gains but highlighted $XRP’s liquidity, ecosystem stability, and credibility among institutions. The chatbot noted $XRP’s November 2024 price rally, which pushed the token to a seven-year high, as an indicator of renewed investor confidence and market momentum.
The AI also stressed Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse’s push for $XRP to be part of a diversified U.S. digital asset reserve, suggesting there could be long-term positioning for broader adoption.
However, Grok called attention to $ONDO’s advantage, especially in the real-world asset (RWA) tokenization sector. The AI stressed that $ONDO’s role in bringing tokenized financial products like U.S. Treasury onto blockchains is forward-looking.
It noted that the RWA market had expanded into a $3.5 billion asset class, and $ONDO could ride on the growing market. However, Grok viewed $ONDO as the riskier pick due to its limited history, price volatility, and dependence on the adoption of a nascent market.
Ultimately, Grok concluded that while $ONDO presents potential for high upside, $XRP provides a more secure option by balancing stability and growth.
ChatGPT Chooses $ONDO
Meanwhile, ChatGPT chose $ONDO as the preferred investment. Its rationale centered on $ONDO’s position at the heart of a powerful and rapidly emerging trend—tokenized real-world assets.
ChatGPT noted that $ONDO’s involvement in bringing institutional-grade products like tokenized Treasuries to the blockchain had attracted attention from major institutions, notably BlackRock. This level of institutional backing gave $ONDO a strong credibility boost and potential for massive growth in the near future.
The AI assessed $XRP as a more mature and safer investment but highlighted that its growth trajectory might be limited due to its already high valuation. $XRP’s strengths, in ChatGPT’s view, include longstanding infrastructure, high liquidity, regulatory progress following partial clarity from the SEC, and widespread exchange listings.
However, it flagged $XRP’s struggle to achieve the level of real-world adoption seen with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum and pointed out the lingering regulatory uncertainties that still cast a shadow.
According to ChatGPT, $ONDO’s pros come from its lower market cap and alignment with regulatory frameworks that favor RWA platforms. It presented a higher risk and the chance for 5x to 10x returns, in contrast to $XRP’s more conservative 2x to 3x potential.
ChatGPT did warn about tokenomics and execution risks, acknowledging that $ONDO is a young project still vulnerable to sell pressure from early investors and challenges in scaling the RWA model.
