Just $7 in SHIB Burned? Shiba Inu Burn Rate Makes Unexpected Reversal

According to Shibburn, just $7 worth of $SHIB was burned in the last 24 hours. 1.38 million $SHIB were burned in the past day, fewer than that seen the day before last. This led to the daily burn rate dropping 87.63%.

The slowdown also triggered a reversal in Shiba Inu's daily burn rate, as the day before last saw the burn rate rise as much as 706%. 17,464,058 $SHIB were burned the day before last, which saw a 706% surge in the timeframe.

Shiba Inu's token burn rate, however, took an unexpected turn, with the latest data from Shibburn showing that only about $7 worth of $SHIB was removed from circulation over the past 24 hours. Shiba Inu burns remain ongoing, with fresh transactions adding to those burned earlier.

In the last seven days, 315.80 million $SHIB were burned, with the weekly burn rate down 69.94%. A contrast is seen on the monthly timeframe. In the last 30 days, the Shiba Inu burn rate skyrocketed significantly, up 1,351%, with 3.47 billion $SHIB burned.

WoofSwap remains the top burner in the last 30 days, sending 3,081,392,109 $SHIB to dead wallets, followed by Robinhood, which burned 154,315,629 $SHIB in the same timeframe.

A total of 410,843,687,208,931 $SHIB has been burned out of Shiba Inu's initial 1 quadrillion supply in 21,473 transactions.

Shiba Inu's burn rate drop coincided with a decline in $SHIB price as the market saw mixed action early Thursday. Shiba Inu was down 3.35% in the last 24 hours as major cryptocurrencies offered little in the way of direction.

Derivatives data show muted activity and aggressive positioning in select altcoins. Shiba Inu open interest was down 5.03% to $43.51 million, according to CoinGlass, which likely reflects capital outflows with little action in Bitcoin and Ethereum futures.

Amid the relative quiet in the market, Mazrael indicates ongoing activity by Shiba Inu developers.

According to Mazrael, Shiba Inu developers have expanded 18 developer documentation pages covering ERC-4337 gasless transactions (Paymaster), crypto Payments API, hosted on-chain data endpoints, and ShibaSwap SDK. He noted that these are the building blocks developers need to create consumer apps on Shibarium, making the move significant.
