Tether, the issuer of USDT, the world’s largest stablecoin, has made a new announcement. According to the announcement, Tether has launched USA₮, a US-made, federally regulated, dollar-backed stablecoin.

“Tether, the largest company in the digital asset sector, today announced the official launch of USA₮, a federally regulated, dollar-backed stablecoin developed specifically to operate within the new federal stablecoin framework created under the U.S. GENIUS Act.”

USA₮ was issued by Anchorage Digital Bank, which is America’s first federally regulated stablecoin issuer.

According to the announcement, USA₮ is now available to US users seeking a dollar-backed token designed to operate within the US federal regime.

It was also stated that USA₮ represents a turning point not only for Tether, but also for the future of the US dollar in the digital age.

USA₮ is designed to operate within the new federal stablecoin framework of the GENIUS Act, and the announcement states that regulated exchanges and banking partners in the U.S. are lining up to support access to USA₮ within the American financial ecosystem.

USA₮, issued by Anchorage Digital Bank and with Cantor Fitzgerald as its reserve custodian, will be traded on Bybit, Cryptocom, Kraken, OKX, and MoonPay.

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said, “USA₮ offers institutions an additional option: a dollar-backed token made in America. For over a decade, USD₮ has proven that digital dollars can deliver trust, transparency, and utility on a global scale. USA₮ expands on that mission by offering a federally regulated product designed for the American market.”

Tether USA₮ CEO Bo Hines stated, “With the launch of USA₮, we envision a digital dollar designed to meet federal regulatory expectations. Our focus is on stability, transparency, and responsible governance, ensuring the United States continues its leadership in dollar innovation.”
