On June 26, World (previously Worldcoin) launched a new infrastructure called Priority Blockspace for Humans (PBH) on its World Chain mainnet. This is an update aimed at improving blockchain access for verified human users.

World Chain is a Layer-2 blockchain built on the OP Stack and secured by Ethereum. It is designed to scale within the Superchain ecosystem and is integrated with the Worldcoin protocol. The network is intended to serve a global user base through apps accessible via compatible wallets like World App.

PBH is a new infrastructure component that prioritizes transactions from Orb-verified users — people who have proven their identity using World ID. During times of network congestion, PBH reserves part of each block specifically for these users. This ensures their transactions go through without delays, regardless of gas fees or economic competition.

The system guarantees access to key services such as proof-of-human verification, Mini Apps, and grant claims, without additional costs. It is automatically activated during high demand.

PBH was tested on an incentivized testnet with participation from researchers and teams at Flashbots and Alchemy. It is open-source and integrated into the World Chain Block Builder and Rollup Boost, a tool for OP Stack chains that allows custom transaction ordering. Both PBH and Rollup Boost were independently audited by Nethermind.
