Neo has introduced a Naughty or Nice Xmas campaign, offering community members a chance to receive GIFT NFTs that provide access to a 400 $GAS prize pool. The campaign invites participants to make a strategic choice: be “naughty” or “nice.”
Naughty or Nice
Each GIFT $NFT entitles its holder to a share of the $GAS prize pool, but how much $GAS each GIFT ultimately receives depends on the holder’s actions:
- Naughty: Holders can choose to open their GIFT before Christmas, giving themselves a 1 in 10 chance to win 9 $GAS. However, there’s a 9 in 10 chance of walking away with nothing as a consequence of impatience.
- Nice: Holders who wait until after Christmas to open their GIFT will receive a guaranteed equal share of the remaining $GAS in the pool.
The gambit for those choosing the naughty path is whether they can beat the odds to claim the 9 $GAS prize. Meanwhile, nice holders hope that many will succumb to temptation and fail, shrinking the number of GIFTs in circulation while preserving a larger share of the prize pool for those who wait.
The campaign makes use of GIFT NFTs and $GAS distributed on Neo X. The dApp is designed and built by COZ, while the prize pool is provided by the Neo Foundation.
How to receive a GIFT $NFT
Neo will distribute 400 GIFT NFTs through two channels:
NeoPod Ambassadors – 100 GIFTs are reserved for NeoPod Ambassadors at the Sentinel and Architect levels.
Zealy Tasks – 300 GIFTs are available for users who complete a series of tasks on the Neo Zealy by Dec. 17, 2:00 a.m. (UTC). Tasks include:
- Following Neo on X (Twitter).
- Sharing a personal story about Neo.
- Bridging 10 $GAS to Neo X.
The GIFT NFTs will be distributed on Dec. 18, 2024, and nice holders will need to wait until 1:00 pm (UTC) on Dec. 25, 2024, to open their GIFTs and claim their share of the prize pool.
