NEAR Protocol Selects Wormhole as Official Bridge for ZK Development

According to the official blog, Wormhole bridge has announced that NEAR Protocol has selected it as the new official bridge. Wormhole will allow all NEAR assets to seamlessly connect to over 20 connected chains, and hundreds of Wormhole-based applications and communities will be included in the NEAR ecosystem.

Wormhole core contributors will join Zpoken and NEAR in developing the ZK light client, which confirms and verifies the state of Ethereum and NEAR without today's trust assumptions. ZK light client will serve as the foundation of the first trustless ETH <> NEAR corridor, providing users with a more secure bridge through the new official Wormhole-based NEAR bridge.

Wormhole provides developers with access to liquidity and users on over 20 leading blockchain networks, enabling advanced DeFi, NFT, and governance use cases. This allows a growing set of products to be built on top of the messaging layer.
